        Last night I went to the Celtic Thunder concert at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. It was a great show. I will admit that it is pretty much the same as the DVD, but watching it on TV is nothing compared to seeing it live. Being there gives you the chance to feel the music in your soul, and the beat of the drums in your heart.
        And the voices Let’s not forget the voices. If I had 1/8 of the talent that all of them had I’d be happy. Amazing. I have always thought it was so amazing that they could take five guys with completely different voices and blend them together so seamlessly.
        Since it was Ryan's birthday I saw a few people walking around the arena with gifts for him. I even saw a woman carrying a cake box.    It was nice to be there on such a special day.

My favorite parts of the night:

CALEDONIA- I love the way the voices blend in this song. And the kilts. I can’t forget the kilts. Even though Paul lifted his kilt to about mid-thigh –twice!- I’m still not quite sure what is under an Irishman’s kilt.

DANNY BOY- The guys took my breath away. It is incredibly hard to sing acapella, and they do it beautifully.

THAT"S A WOMAN- I spent the whole time wishing I was Zara. Kissing Paul, leaving with Ryan. Although, I think I’d have a hard time choosing between any of the guys.

I can't wait for the Olympics to start. Even though I am hardly an athlete, every time the Olympics rolls around I find myself glued to the TV. how many medals is the US going to get? I am so excited! I'm a published writer! I have an article in the March issue of Exceptional Parent magazine! I know that just by writing this blog, not to mention all the writing I did for the school newspaper, I was an writer, but this is a REAL magazine!

I am so sick of Windows! Every day, when I turn on my computer, I have to wait several minutes for it to load all of the background programs, and then the minute I open Internet Explorer, it freezes, and stays frozen until I rip the cord out of the wall. I don't care if there are no programs for it, next time I am buying a Mac and then I will never look at a Windows computer again I am so sick and tired of all of the problems that are part of Windows/PComputers!

I'm still looking for a job. On the bright side, I applied for a marketing job on Wednesday night, and got a call on Thursday! I'm going for an interview on Tuesday!. Although I do wonder if I even have a chance at the job, I went back into the website today and saw that the job posting has been removed. Do you think that they already found someone and are just going to be going through the motions during my interview? Or have they just decided that they'll pick someone after the Tuesday intervies? I hope it's the latter, The company offers very good benefits, and I NEED to find a job that has healthcare.

Wow. It really has been a long time since I have posted. I have been so busy. I graduated college in May, and have been looking for a job ever since. Who knew it would be so hard to find a job in communications. i must have my resume on hundreds of sites and I have applied to about 50 jobs, and I haven't even gotten any replies. I've only gotten 1 interview! When are people going to call me? It's so frustrating.

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving.

Today is my last day of school before the break, and I think everyone is already in a break frame of mind. The only thing we did in my journalism class was eat pumpkin bread. No writing, no reading, no researching, we just ate food. It was really good too.

Now I have an 1:30 before I have to be a camerawoman for my friend's video project. I don't really want to do it, but she has helped me with my project and I feel I should do the same for her. I do, kind of, wish I was baking one of the millions of pies I have to make for Thanksgiving, but I like working the camera, so I guess I'll just bake all of the pies tomorrow.

After that, I have to go to my Fairy Tale class and turn in my fairy tale. That's right, I had to write a fairy tale. What fun! my story is about a girl named Sara who wakes up one morning to discover she is a rich girl- she then goes through different situations before realizing that she was lucky just having a family that loves her.

Then, after class, I have to film on-camera statements for my video project. That will be really fun. I'm working with someone who has never been in front of a camera before. Oh joy, sometimes I wish that I could just do all of it. Then I could get in all done on one day, instead of doing a little bit every day for a few weeks.

Oh well, at least the semester is almost over.

I am so bored. A couple of weeks ago I agreed to help tape CM's graduation. And now, here I am, all alone in the video control room, 1 1/2 hours before it even starts. Then I have to sit through the whole thing, in a freezing cold room, all by myself, with my only human contact being when I call on of my videographers to tell her that I am changing a video tape. That's it. Other than that, I am going to be stuck in this room talking to myself and trying not the fall asleep during the speeches. Ugh!

Why did i agree to do this? Oh yeah, I wanted the money. At least I'm getting paid for it. Well, at least I'll have something to put on my resume... if I don't die from boredom.

There is only a week and a half of classes and I have so much work I have to do.

I have a take home final for speech that I have to do along with write my persuasive speech. The final and the speech are both due on the same day.

I have to do a collage about a prejudice that I face for Fine Arts and I have no idea what to do. (Does anybody know about any prejudices a white woman faces? I'll probably do it about the stereotype of a woman and ha-ow we get less pay, etc.)

I have to create a PR proposal from scratch about a program that my class created. That will be so mUch fun! (insert sarcasm here). How do I explain VALERT. Its a county wide program that is designed to coordinate volunteer efforts, so that the people monitoring the rumor control hotline do not have to deal with calls from well-meaning volunteers and can answer the important questions like- Will I have to evacuate my house? Is my house in danger of flooding, etc. Does any of this make sense? The program is a good thing, and it could help alot of people. It is starting out as a county program, but it could conceivably end up going national. That would mean that I was a co-creator and co-author of a national PR campaign! That will look great on my resume.

Well, i really got off on a tangent. What else do I have do? Oh yes, my video group project. At least that is halfway done. All we have to do is edit the story together.

At least I only have one final. And its not even cumulative. My religion professor gave the class that info last week and I am so happy. His finals are difficult when they cover the entire year. There is so much information.

I guess that's it as far as work goes. The junior and senior communications majors are going to New York City on Wednesday. We are going to see a show be aired, visit satellite radio, and a PR firm. We are also doing other things, but I don't remember what. The only bad thing is that the bus leaves at 5:15am. I'll have to get up at 4:00am which really sucks. Oh well. I still can't wait to go. It should be fun.

Speech

I have to give a speech today. Yuck. It's about ways to fly safetly. I have to give an informative speech. I'm going to be talking about ways to stay safe in airport terminals and on the aircraft. I'm also going to be talking about ways to keep your belongings safe and mention some of the items that are allowed and prohibitted on-board. I'm am not looking foreward to it.

I can give speeches in front of people, I just don't like to do it.

And after this one I still have to give a persuasive speech. (insert sarcasm here) That'll be even more fun.

I hate that I have to take a speech class. I do presentations in other classes, Isn't that enough?!

And to top it all off, the freshmen and sophmore communications majors don't have to take a speech class, because it was combined with another class. That's just not fair!

Why do people sign up for a class if they are not going to show up? For the second time this week, less than half of my PR class bothered to come at all. On Tuesday my professor let us go after giving us back our projects. Today he let us go after 5 minutes. He said there was no point starting something new when there was nobody here. And I'm paying for this!!! How much money am I waisting by sitting around and not learning anything?! I don't blame him, I'd be frustrated if I was teaching a class and nobody showed up. I'm blaming all those people who never show up for class!

I would understand if they skipped a class like my Biblical Studies class, but this is PR! It's so much more fun. We get to pick on people and say why what they did is stupid. If you have to skip a class, skip one of the more boring ones.
